ABOUT ME - chrisdaviscina

I Love Photography. I have ever since I was 12 and I looked through the viewfinder of my father's Yashica camera, which actually showed me the world upside-down.

An avid photographer, I am  also a writer, editor and graphic artist who lived in New York’s beautiful Hudson Valley until moving to Austin, Texas in 2012. After years of working at a daily newspaper, The Poughkeepsie Journal, and getting to shoot covers for assorted magazines, I decided to get out on my own and grow as a professional photographer.

Since 2006, I've  focused my efforts on photography, especially  landscapes where I have won several awards in photo competitions and had a variety of exhibits both in NY and Texas.I am currently enjoying growing as a portrait photographer, as well.

I constantly get a thrill out of finding the best angle to show the beauty of a person or a new way of looking at a scene. I embrace the opportunity to share – even if only for a moment – an image that shows someone what I see and feel while photographing, especially with others who may not otherwise get to experience it firsthand. I've been fortunate to travel all over and  I’ve been blessed with wonderful mentors who have helped me grow as a photographic artist.

My most important job at the moment is as Grandma to three darling preschoolers and as a mother and wife.
